Celler Presse: How it all began: You were caught singing along to Avril Lavigne in the car at just three years old, and by age 13, you had taught yourself drums, piano, guitar, and bass. Looking back, what was the definitive moment when you realized that Rock ‚N Roll wasn’t just a hobby, but your calling? Sierra Levesque: When I was around 12 years old, I began performing live anywhere I could find an opportunity. With every performance, I became more certain that music was what I wanted to dedicate my life to. That passion carried me through high school and continues to drive me today as I complete my Bachelor of Arts in Songwriting at Berklee College of Music. It is the same passion that will continue to fuel my career for years to come. （Als ich etwa 12 Jahre alt war, fing ich an, überall live aufzutreten, wo sich eine Gelegenheit bot. Celler Presse: The DIY Powerhouse: On your debut album „NEW GENERATION“, you wrote, recorded, and co-produced all 13 songs entirely by yourself. Musically and technically, what is the biggest challenge—and the greatest reward—of being a true „one-woman band“ both in the studio and on stage? (Das DIY-Kraftpaket: Auf deinem Debütalbum „NEW GENERATION“ hast du alle 13 Songs komplett selbst geschrieben, eingespielt und co-produziert. Was ist musikalisch und technisch die größte Herausforderung – und die größte Belohnung?)
Sierra Levesque: I’d say the biggest challenge is convincing promoters and booking agents that a solo artist can deliver the same level of energy and impact as a full band. I perform with backing tracks that I recorded entirely myself, so there can sometimes be a misconception that a one-person act is somehow “less than” a traditional band setup. In reality, every instrument you hear was played and produced by me, which makes the performance even more personal.
The greatest reward is having complete creative control over every aspect of the music. From the songwriting and instrumentation to the arrangements and production, I get to shape every detail of the final product. Being a one-woman band allows me to bring my exact vision to life without compromise, and there’s something incredibly rewarding about hearing a song evolve from an idea in my head into a fully realized recording that I created from start to finish. （Die größte Herausforderung ist es, Promoter und Booking-Agenten davon zu überzeugen, dass ein Solo-Künstler die gleiche Energie wie eine komplette Band liefern kann. Celler Presse: The Gear Check: For our fellow musicians and gearheads reading this: What is your current go-to setup? Do you have a favorite guitar or a specific piece of equipment that defines the signature Sierra Levesque sound? Sierra Levesque: My current live setup centers around my Epiphone Prophecy Flying V electric guitar and my Fender Acoustasonic Highway Series Parlor guitar. I run them through a Fender GTX100 amplifier and use a Telefunken M80 microphone for vocals, all paired with Ernie Ball strings and gear.
In the studio, I primarily work in Logic Pro X and use AmpliTube for many of my guitar tones, along with a Focusrite Scarlett interface for recording. Since I write, perform, and record all of my own parts, my sound is really defined by that combination of modern recording tools and my approach to arranging and layering guitars, vocals, bass, drums, and keyboards to create the biggest possible sound from a one-woman band. （Mein Live-Setup konzentriert sich auf meine Epiphone Prophecy Flying V E-Gitarre und meine Fender Acoustasonic Highway Series Parlor Gitarre über einen Fender GTX100 Verstärker. Celler Presse: 80s Spirit meets Modern Rock: Your sound beautifully channels the raw energy of legendary 80s acts like Guns N‘ Roses and Heart, blended with modern influences like Ghost. How do you balance paying homage to the golden era of rock while carving out your own unique identity for the next generation? Sierra Levesque: Thank you so much for the compliment, I really appreciate it. I’ve always loved the energy, musicianship, and larger-than-life feel of classic rock bands like Guns N’ Roses and Heart, but I also want my music to connect with listeners today. I try to blend those big, memorable guitar riffs and hooks that defined the 80s with modern production and lyrics that people of any age can relate to and sing along with. At the same time, I think it’s important to bring my own perspective and experiences into the music. If there’s one thing that defines a Sierra Levesque song, it’s the combination of hard-driving guitars, powerful melodies, and a clean, soaring vocal style. My goal is to honor the music that inspired me while helping introduce a new generation to rock in a way that feels fresh, authentic, and uniquely my own. （Vielen Dank für das Kompliment! Celler Presse: Inspirational Mentors: You’ve already caught the attention of rock royalty and opened major sold-out shows at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. Which encounter or piece of advice from a veteran rock musician has made the deepest impression on you so far? Sierra Levesque: One person who has had a major impact on me is Ron ‚Bumblefoot‘ Thal (ex-Guns N‘ Roses). He has given me guitar lessons over the years and has also co-produced, mixed, and mastered all of my music. One piece of advice he has consistently emphasized is to do as much as possible on your own and not rely too heavily on others for your success. That mindset has really shaped the way I approach my career. As someone who writes, performs, records, and produces much of my own music, I’ve learned the value of developing a wide range of skills and taking ownership of my creative vision. （Eine Person, die einen großen Einfluss auf mich hatte, ist Ron ‚Bumblefoot‘ Thal. Er hat mir über die Jahre Gitarrenunterricht gegeben und all meine Musik co-produziert. Celler Presse: The Runner’s Mindset: Besides your massive musical talent, you have a strong background as a competitive cross-country and track runner. Does the intense discipline, focus, and stamina required for long-distance running help you handle the heavy workload of managing an independent music career? Is running still a way for you to clear your head today? (Das Mindset einer Läuferin: Neben deinem Talent hast du einen starken Hintergrund als Wettkampfläuferin im Cross-Country- und Track-Bereich. Sierra Levesque: I used to run cross-country and track in elementary school and really enjoyed the competitive aspect of it, which is something I’ve always been drawn to in many areas of life. Then there was a long period where I wasn’t running much, but recently I’ve gotten back into it and it’s been incredibly rewarding. Running has helped me set new goals, push myself mentally and physically, and prove to myself that I can do things that once seemed impossible. I definitely think that mindset carries over into music. Building an independent music career takes a lot of discipline, consistency, and perseverance, and running has reminded me that progress comes from showing up every day and continuing to push forward. It’s also become a great way to clear my head, reset, and challenge myself outside of music. （Ich bin früher Cross-Country gelaufen und vor Kurzem wieder damit angefangen. Laufen hat mir geholfen, mir neue Ziele zu setzen und mir selbst zu beweisen, dass ich Dinge tun kann, die einst unmöglich schienen. Dieses Mindset lässt sich definitiv auf die Musik übertragen. Celler Presse: Targeting Germany and Wacken: Germany has one of the most passionate and loyal rock and metal fanbases in the world, hosting legendary festivals like the Wacken Open Air. How excited are you about expanding your international presence into Europe, and what would it mean to you to perform on a massive German festival stage in the near future? Sierra Levesque: I’ve always wanted to visit Germany and Europe in general. Some of my favorite bands, including the Scorpions and Rammstein, come from Germany, so it’s a place that’s always been special to me as a rock fan. I’m incredibly excited about the idea of expanding my music internationally and connecting with audiences across Europe. Germany has such a passionate and dedicated rock and metal community, and festivals like Wacken Open Air are legendary. To perform on a stage like that would be an absolute dream come true and a huge milestone in my career. More than anything, I’d love the opportunity to share my music with fans there and experience firsthand the energy and love that Germany has for rock music. I can’t wait to visit and hopefully perform for you all someday! （Ich wollte schon immer nach Deutschland reisen. Einige meiner Lieblingsbands wie die Scorpions und Rammstein kommen von dort. Celler Presse: What’s Next? Your recent singles like „DON’T GO“ and „UNDERMINED“ (released in May 2026) are packed with incredible energy. Sierra Levesque: I’ve been writing a lot of new music and I’m constantly working on creating songs that I’m really excited to be releasing!
